Same filter cartridges as last month, two pallets, and the usual gaskets.

Agent

I have your October order. For gaskets, your account has used both the FKM gasket and the standard nitrile gasket this year. Which one this time?

Dana · caller

FKM. We're running solvent-based product this month.

Agent

FKM gaskets, 480 to match. Both items are in stock at your branch, so expect it to ship in two to three business days. Customer service will confirm the date on release.

The problem

Most B2B revenue still arrives by phone and email. The people who answer it are the same people you need out selling.

Calls hit voicemail at the busiest hours

Lunch, 4:30 PM, month end. The order that lands then waits until someone is free, or goes to a competitor who picked up.

Reorders eat the morning

Experienced reps re-key orders that haven't changed in a year, then run out of day before they reach a new account.

Follow-ups don't happen

Quotes go quiet, dormant accounts stay dormant, and price notices go out late because nobody has the hours to make the calls.

Platform

Your own agent. Trained on your catalogue. Bound by your rules.

Your agent gets its own voice, line and settings. You keep your business number and simply forward it to the agent's line. It follows a rulebook your leadership approves, and it works inside the systems your team already uses.

Order capture

Takes the order and matches the exact item, or asks.

Customer part numbers, your codes, or "the usual". The agent resolves every line against the customer's price list and history, asks when two items are near-identical, and remembers the answer for next time.

  • Phone, email and text, including purchase orders as attachments
  • Blanket order releases and standing orders
  • Every order prepared for release by your customer service team, never released on its own

Asked the caller. "Your account has used both gaskets this year. Which one this time?" → FKM. Preference saved for Westfield Coatings.

Pricing & availability

Answers with your numbers. Never its own.

Prices come live from the customer's price list. Stock and ship windows come from the ERP. If a request falls outside the list, the agent writes a pricing request to the rep and tells the customer when to expect an answer.

  • Live stock by branch, nearest stocking location
  • Ship windows stated as windows, never as a promised date
  • Specifications, data sheets and certificates sent from a curated library

Outbound & campaigns

Fills your reps' calendars with meetings worth taking.

Call, email and text campaigns with a named approver on every list and script: reactivation, launches, price notices, event invitations. Qualified meetings land directly in the rep's calendar with a briefing attached.

  • Consent, do-not-call and calling hours re-checked at every send
  • Replies routed to the right person; results tracked by campaign and by rep
  • Everything written back to your CRM campaigns

Service & handover

Sounds like your best rep. Hands over like one too.

Order status, delivery questions, documents, product questions answered from a knowledge base with sources. The moment a caller asks for a person, or the agent isn't sure, it transfers to a named colleague with a whispered summary so nobody repeats themselves.

  • Natural, unhurried voice in English and French
  • Transfer by name first, then by role, following your call plan
  • Safety and regulated questions confirmed with a person before they are answered

Use cases

Where it earns its keep

Every use case names what the agent does and what stays with your people. That line is configured for your business and never moves without you.

After-hours and overflow order capture

Calls and emails that land at 6 PM, over lunch, or while every line is busy are answered, matched and queued. Nothing waits in voicemail.

Your team keeps releasing every order into the ERP

Repeat orders from regular accounts

"Same as last time" becomes a prepared order with exact items from history, with a question asked whenever two items could be confused.

Your team keeps any change to pricing or terms

Stock, lead-time and ship-window checks

Live availability by branch. In-stock items get a window from the ERP. Anything else is a date your team confirms before it is given.

Your team keeps rush requests and promised dates

Pricing requests routed, not improvised

Contract accounts hear their own list prices. Off-list and new-item requests become a pricing task for the rep, with the customer told when to expect an answer.

Your team keeps every price not already in the system

Out-of-stock and substitute handling

Not in stock? The agent offers your approved substitute or the next available date from your ERP, or sends a sourcing request to the rep, by your rules.

Your team keeps freight decisions and sourcing

Reactivation and price-change campaigns

Dormant accounts called back. Price notices, launches and invitations sent by call, email or text with a named approver on every list and script.

Trust by design

Rules the people who run the desk would write themselves.

An agent that talks to your customers has to be trusted by your customer service lead before anyone else. These rules are fixed in the platform, not left to the model's judgement.

01

Only what your systems return

Prices, stock, dates and specifications come from your ERP, price lists and knowledge base. If a tool didn't return it, the agent doesn't say it.

02

Your team releases every order

Orders are prepared into a release queue. Customer service reviews and releases. Nothing reaches the ERP as a live order without a person.

03

Hand over whenever asked or unsure

A caller who asks for a person gets one, by name. A question the agent isn't confident about goes to a person too, with a summary attached.

04

Every campaign has a named approver

No list is called and no script is sent without a person's approval. Consent, do-not-call and calling hours are checked again at every send.

05

Your data stays yours

Configuration, knowledge and records belong to you. Retention is set per record type with jurisdiction overrides and legal holds. Leave with a full export. Your business number was never ours: calls reach the agent by forwarding, so leaving is as simple as switching the forward off.

06

Measured, not assumed

Every conversation is scored: resolved without handover, orders released without correction, meetings reps rated worth taking. You see the numbers in your own reports.

How we work

Start with one desk. Grow from there.

We take on a small number of customers at a time, so each one gets our full attention. Fees follow conversation volume, results show up in your own reports rather than ours, and the price is locked for the term.

Before go-live

Setup

We load your catalogue, price lists and call plan, connect your systems, and write the rulebook with your team.

Company

Marmae is building the AI workforce for industrial commerce.

Trillions of dollars of goods move through distributors and manufacturers every year, and most of those orders still begin with a phone call or an email to a person at a desk. That desk is where relationships are kept and where margin is won or lost, and it has been almost untouched by software. Marmae exists to change that without breaking what makes it work.

We are an Ontario company founded by an engineer who has spent close to a decade in outside sales, selling into manufacturers and relying every day on the inside sales and customer service teams that keep orders moving. We built the platform around that partnership: what a good rep actually does on a call, what a customer service lead needs to see before releasing an order, and what a sales leader wants to know at the end of the week.

The platform is designed for the hardest version of the job: thousands of near-identical SKUs, regulated products, and customers who know exactly what they want and expect you to know it too. That is what the desk looks like across industrial B2B, from MRO and electrical to chemicals and building products.

Built from the desk outward

Designed with the people who answer the phones, not around them.

Measured, not assumed

Every conversation scored. Results you can check in your own reports.

Yours to leave

Your configuration, your knowledge, your records. Exportable on request.

Put it on one desk. We'll prove it there.

Tell us about your desk: channels, rough volumes, the systems you run, and the one thing that would make the biggest difference. We'll show you the agent handling calls like yours, then scope a pilot around your desk.
